HIROKI TANABE

To reduce costs, the exposed structural elements were painted, giving the space a café-like atmosphere. In contrast, the seating area features high-quality Japanese materials such as tin-cast tabletops, glazed porcelain tile partitions, sumi-finished mortar flooring, and chairs made from Hida-grown oak. Rather than simply blending Japanese and modern elements, the design intentionally juxtaposes them to create a new interpretation of "wa-modern." The average customer spend is ¥10,000.
